ANCHORAGE BIATHLON CLUB
ABC is a development program that supports novice, intermediate, and advanced biathletes as they train for success. Biathlon is a demanding sport that requires both physical fitness and high mental acuity so weekly training sessions generally focus on active ‘combo’ workouts that mimic biathlon competition by combining physical activities with shooting. The primary focus of group workouts and self-paced dry-fire drills is on building fundamental shooting skills. We use a mixture of dry-fire, visualization, games, live-fire drills and competitions to teach shooting habits that are the basis for consistent, precise shooting.
Athletes can expect to run , roller-ski and ski in the Winter . However, ABC’s workouts are designed to supplement middle school, high school and/or club ski training programs. Success in biathlon depends on both skiing and shooting. Athletes are strongly encouraged to work with a local ski club and/or school program!
